Battlefield 3: Back to Karkand Patch Available & Trailer for Close Quarters

Battlefield 3: Back to Karkand Patch to Fix Animation Bug

Per a post from H Brun on the Battlefield 3 blog on March 12, PS3 players can download a patch today to fix an annoying weapon animation bug.  The bug was causing various animation glitches such as the one below.

Per H Brun, “This download is free of charge if you have already bought Back to Karkand. Note that changes made on our back end will make this re-download mandatory in the near future” (2012).

First trailer for new Battlefiled 3 expansion, Close Quarters

And for those interested in the expansion packs, Brun also highlighted the next BF3 expansion, Close Quarters.  The action is moving indoors in this expansion, with tighter maps, 10 new weapons, 10 new assignments, and 5 unique dog tags.

The new expansion will be available on PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 in June 2012.

Per Electronic Arts:

Battlefield 3: Close Quarters is a themed expansion pack bringing the team play of Battlefield 3 to tight indoor environments. The frantic close quarters infantry combat is amplified by unprecedented high definition destruction, new ways to play, added persistence, and new weapons.

The HD Destruction in Battlefield 3: Close Quarters lets players riddle the environment with bullets, reducing entire locales to ruin. Everything from furniture to plaster can be shot to pieces, and players can see the result of the mayhem as rubble and broken pieces pile up on the floor. The tight level design and many opportunities for vertical gameplay create a highly competitive environment.

BF3 fans should also keep an eye out for upcoming DLC, Armored Kill and End Game.  Armored Kill will release in the fall and will provide the thrilling experience of running over everything in your path in a large armored vehicle! Armored tanks, ATVs, and mobile artillery, seem to be the most talked about, though some rumors speculate on some jet action as well. Not much has come out about End Game yet, but there is speculation that it will release in winter and is set in Vietnam.
